Babysitters - How Much is Too Much?

Okay parents, everyone seems to have a different opinion of how much they should and shouldn't get out without their kids.
Though it seems that everyone "needs" a different amount of time away, how often is it appropriate to get a babysitter in order to get out? Weekly? Monthly? Once a year?

If your kids are in good hands while you get out and you spend quality time with them when you are not out, then as much as you need is fine. A healthy amount of time away is good to keep your family happy.

Sean feels comfortable getting a sitter a few times a week while I think we should keep it to a few times a month. Regardless, it's fun and needed to get out as a couple without the kids.

How do you find a good sitter when you recently moved to this area and really do not know anyone here? We recently moved form Texas to Minnesota and have not found any friends yet that we trust to sit with our son. We haven't been out for months and we know we need to, we just haven't found a trusted sitter.

I have never had a babysitter for my children besides my parents or my husband's parents, but other than someone outside of the family watching my girls - NEVER! I'm not saying I don't a babysitter; I would love to find a great babysitter. I think when I do find a great babysitter I would pay her $8.00 and hour which I still feel that's not enough because you handling children. I believe my children will behave; they are some great girls. the reason why I say that is because when I pick them up from school their teachers always have something good to say to me about the girls. Now the youngest one she is not in school yet, but she is a sweetheart! We would only need a babysitter for about a few hours, no later than 4 hours tops. We live in Marietta, GA, so if you know a great babysitter please let us know. Thanks
